Some rough paper experiments made while studying in Kelli Anderson’s incredible Paper Engineering course at the Cooper Union. Above left, a miura ori folded poster based on one that Kelli made. Above right, a single sheet of paper folded to look like a basket weave, based on a pattern by Eric Gjerde.

Below, 12 pieces of kite paper connected with just thread that move together in a choreographed way. I reverse engineered this from a brief clip of a ‘jitterbug’ shown in a film about the paper engineer and computer scientist Ron Resch.

Below, a miura ori folded poster that acts as a visual tool for remembering the difference between two similar kanji that I frequently confused despite my best efforts (!!).
